Concert Meat Loaf

Meatloaf komt weer naar nederland... We hebbeb weer kaartjes gekocht hahaha kan er niets aan doen. Ik hoop echt dat hij zich dan wel weer wat beter voelt.

Nou jongens...

Vanavond gaan we naar het concert van Ome Loaf in Dortmund!! Hij heeft als het goed is een aantal weken vrij gehad, dus ik hoop dat hij nu weer wat beter bij stem is. Ik weet in elk geval nu wat me te wachten staat en ik ga er gewoon lekker van genieten!!  :D

In november hebben we dan nog een keer een concert van Ome Loaf in AHOY en dat zal een soort afscheidsconcert zijn, denk ik  :'(

Maar eerst van deze genieten!!!

Hi Mara en Anja,

Het was gaaf!!!!!!!!!!! Hij was bijna weer de oude!!!
Ok hij zat er hier en daar nog een nootje naast en hij trilt met zijn hand en kan nog steeds niet de hele tijd rechtop zingen, maar hij maakte er weer een hele show van.

Tot mijn grote verrassing was het weer heel anders als in de HMH. Andere nummers en andere volgorde. Hij zong weer redelijk sterk.

Het is natuurlijk niet zoals 5 jaar geleden, maar we hebben er van genoten. Hij lachte ook weer af en toe... dan heeft hij echt een heel guitig koppie  :-X ;D

Alleen is het Duitse publiek minder uitbundig dan het Nederlandse publiek  :) Als hij zo ook in Ahoy weet te zingen in november, dan gaat het echt een knaller worden  :D Ik heb er nu al helemaal zin in hahaha...

Poeh... ik ging er wel heen met lood in mijn schoenen... toch wel bang dat we hem weer op instorten zouden zien, maar WOW... wat was hij goed!!! We reden helemaal tevreden en opgelucht terug.

Het liet me wel beseffen dat hij zijn handen dicht mag knijpen met zo'n band. Ze hebben hem er toen helemaal doorheen gesleept in de HMH. Ze zijn zo op elkaar ingespeeld. Nu ook weer.... De interactie tussen allemaal...

Kort om... heerlijk genoten  :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Heerlijk dat het concert zo goed was. Je wilt je idool niet af zien gaan en geen medelijden krijgen. Dat is zo erg.

Wat fijn dat het een goed concert was en dat je genoten hebt. Het is waar wat je zegt, Duits publiek is anders dan het Nederlandse. Als je maar genoten hebt, dat is het belangrijkste.

"Thanks to those who enjoyed the show, I did go to other sites and read about 50 reviews , 7 of which did not like the show. The show was going well up until I did a stupid thing . After that I will admit I was very unhappy with myself .. The band was coming up and saying good show I was saying yes, it was ok, till after "love her for both of us" The stupid thing !!!! I screamed about the Sun newspaper and strained my voice and I suffered the rest of the night all by myself . So I am very sorry to those who had to suffer with me for being angry. Not to make an excuse but I have fought with my weight all my life and for the last 18 years I have watched what I ate and l tried to keep the almost 100 pounds I lost in "89" off. So when thos e bastards at the "SUN" said I gained 80 pounds since June , I lost it. I will not do it again ( scream like that so that the show is hurt, that was very wrong of me) and I will make the shows the rest of you are coming to , even better , I will work harder, and I will do everything in my power to have 100% of the people walk out happy . I am sorry that I am 60 and still not 28 but we will all get older, that is life. I know Tom Jones cares about his shows and would be upset if he was off. The one thing people need to know is that I suffer with these shows even if I think they are ok. As far as I am am concerned no show is ever good enough, sometimes they are ok but that's it. Again thanks for the support and sorry for the disappointment. Here's hoping Newcastle is perfect. By the way Karaoke is Devil worship . I pray every night and before every show that I will find strength, wisdom and courage to give everything I have to that show. I live and Die with these shows. When I sing I in "frying Pan" I live too take you, I mean it."

OK, this is the story. I've just arrived back from the concert.

From the off Meat was singing pretty bad. He was missing cues, making the band play on and seemed to have mike problems. Every now and again his voice did shine through as it was back in May.

He got to It's all coming back to me now and you could tell something was wrong. You hardly hear him and he actually had to rest his head on Aspen Miller a couple of times.

He had already cut Gonna Love Her For Both Of Us too.

Then he started Paradise, the band kicked in and he pulled on his dress jacket. He looked across the audience and i think the exact words were..."Newcastle, thank you very much. I want you to enjoy this Paradise, Bat out of Hell, Anything for Love, Mercury Blues and Gimme Shelter because they may be the last of my fucking life."

The audience were slightly stunned by that, he started the first line of Paradise but made it no further than "happened only yesterday", then he look out at the audience again and said "No, I can't. That's it. No more. Thank you Newcastle for 30 wonderful years. I take off my jacket (which he did, and dropped it on the stage), Say again thank you, and that's all there is is. Goodbye."

And he left the stage. After few minutes the tannoy said that Meat had fallen in and could not be continuing.

Ik schrik er wel van... Ik ben nu heel blij dat ik naar Dortmund ben geweest... Want ik ben er niet echt zeker van of hij AHOY  nog haalt  :'( of doet  :'(

Ik denk dat hij zwaar overspannen en over vermoeid is.
Ik heb echt met hem te doen... hij wil zo ontzettend graag...
Mijn hart huilt echt voor hem.

Wat vreselijk om te lezen, Monique.  :'(
En dat hij gewoon blijft doorgaan. Ik vind nogsteeds gezondheid op de eerste plaats komen. Die man zou meer aan zichzelf moeten denken, dan aan de fans en of de show wel of niet goed is.
Ik hoop voor je, dat hij flink kan uitrusten en in de Ahoy toch een een redelijke show kan geven.
Al ware het, dat hij hij de zang op een bandje liet horen en enkel meezingt, wanneer hij het aankan. (zijn Devil worship) Die vent eist gewoon teveel van zichzelf.  :'(

Hij is helaas niet de persoon die zang op een bandje aan het publiek voorschotelt  :-\

Het is toch eigenlijk te zot voor woorden dat hij zich aan zijn publiek en fans moet verontschuldigen dat hij 60 is en niet meer zingt als 10 jaar geleden. Ik denk als hij 1 concert in de week zou geven in plaats van 3, dat hij het beter en langer zou volhouden... Maar zijn manager denkt daar blijkbaar anders over  >:(

'Stressed' Meat Loaf abandons gig

Fans were left disappointed last night after US singer Meat Loaf cut short a concert in Newcastle after an hour.
However, his tour promoter has refuted claims that the 60-year-old told the audience it would be his final gig.

"I've spoken to his doctor, and it's clear it's just exhaustion and stress," said Andrew Miller. "It's not his last ever gig, that's for sure."

Mr Miller went on to say that he hoped Meat Loaf's gig in Birmingham on Friday would go ahead as scheduled.

'Disorientated'

"He'll be fine," he said. "We hope that 24 hours rest will get him better."

He added that claims the singer had told the audience it would be his "last ever gig" were "totally unfounded".

"I was backstage with him last night and he apologised, saying 'I'm just exhausted.'"

Meat Loaf had just launched into a performance of Paradise on the Dashboard Light when he abruptly stopped, thanked the audience and left the stage.

Shortly afterwards an announcement was made saying the singer had been taken ill.

A spokeswoman from Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena said the Bat Out Of Hell star had been forced to curtail the gig due to an inflammation of the larynx.

The singer - born Marvin Lee Aday in 1947 - has a history of health problems, having previously collapsed on stage at London's Wembley Arena in 2003.

Audience member John Robson told the BBC that Meat Loaf had seemed disorientated and dazed during his performance.

"It wasn't the Meat Loaf of 10 years ago," he said. "You could hear he wasn't getting to the notes he'd normally be getting to."


Hij moet niet 24 uur rust, maar een week!! Maar goed, we wachten af wat hij verder gaat doen.
